Economic Development Committee
From February 2003, until early this summer, the Economic Development Committee has become a reality. Several meetings have been held to ascertain the needs of our community, to find ways to promote it and to envision a mission. Speakers have been obtained to provide information on the mechanics of a committee such as this and to provide an example of other communities' success stories embarking on an undertaking of this nature. Rural living at its best. Dedicated to growing our future.
The mission statement as noted above describes the focus of Luseland's Economic Development Committee. To this end, the committee has made inroads into beginning a web site for the town of Luseland, has prepared a brochure promoting our beautiful community and our services and businesses, and has explored avenues for drawing tourists and trades persons to the area.
The Committee has several projects that it plans to undertake, some of which may include building a sod hut, advertising for trades persons and improving signage. "Many hands make light work", and the committee invites volunteers, regardless of age or how small a contribution you feel you may be able to make, to take an active role in meeting the committee's goals. The success of the committee's works, and indeed, the viability of our town, may well depend on committed residents who are willing to share of themselves to encourage growth in our community.
